-Follows the unique Alpaca Fiber Fashion Industry in Peru. The film traces the production chain from the shearing of individual Alpaca high in the Andes Mountains, to small, remote workshops where indigenous/migrant Andean weavers knit the garments, to high-fashion runways in Lima where the garments are presented and sold to exporters. The film looks at the social cost and impact of this growing industry.
This fashion editorial was shot at Templo Vedico, a Hare Krishna Ashram in Chosica, Peru. We set out to create a dream-like aesthetic that begins with the minimalist white clothing of the young woman as she starts to explore the dream world. As she slips into a trance the world transforms into a celebratory dance of colorful robes and garments.
